QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform comprehensive manual and automated testing across both web and mobile platforms to ensure consistent product quality and reliability throughout various releases.

• Work closely with developers, product managers, and QA colleagues to validate requirements, clarify acceptance criteria, and maintain effective communication during the sprint cycle.

• Investigate, document, and accurately report defects while collaborating with engineering teams to reproduce issues, confirm fixes, and prevent regressions.

• Create and sustain detailed test cases, test plans, and regression suites utilizing tools such as Zephyr Scale.

• Play a key role in enhancing PlanHub’s SDLC and release processes by integrating quality checks earlier in the development cycle and promoting QA best practices.

• Analyze test outcomes, conduct root cause analysis, and deliver actionable insights to improve product stability and user experience.

• Write and execute SQL queries for data validation, backend testing, and API level verification.

• Identify and promote test automation opportunities, assisting in the expansion and maintenance of automated regression coverage using frameworks like Playwright.

• Monitor, assess, and communicate QA metrics and quality KPIs (e.g., defect trends, regression coverage, test execution velocity) to foster continuous improvement across releases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

• 3 years of experience in any role related to Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering within a SaaS or web-based platform environment.

• 2 years of experience in writing SQL queries and ensuring data integrity in MySQL or similar relational databases.

• Experience in manual and exploratory testing, including the identification, documentation, and isolation of complex issues across frontend, backend, and API layers.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development lifecycles, including tools such as Jira and Zephyr Scale for test management and defect tracking.

• Experience testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman, focusing on integration verification and data accuracy.

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, developers, and QA colleagues to deliver high-quality releases.

• Experience in troubleshooting root causes and clearly communicating findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to manage multiple testing initiatives and adapt swiftly in a fast-paced release environment.

• Experience in continuous improvement, identifying process gaps, and contributing to QA best practices at both the individual and team levels.

• A Master’s degree in any field, along with one (1) year of experience in any role related to Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering within a SaaS or web-based platform environment, is accepted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
