QA Automation Engineer – Mobile, Android

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Design and advance our Android automation framework (Espresso/Kakao-Cup) to accommodate an expanding range of security products.

• Develop intricate testing strategies tailored to VPN-specific challenges, including network-dependent processes and testing in unstable or fluctuating connection conditions.

• Collaborate closely with developers and fellow QAs to diagnose and resolve issues, providing comprehensive bug reports.

• Maintain QA best practices and actively contribute to the evolution of the QA strategy.

• Continuously investigate new testing tools and methodologies to improve the QA process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in automating UI tests for Android applications developed in Kotlin.

• Strong practical knowledge of Espresso and Kakao-Cup, with the capability to test interfaces created in both Jetpack Compose and traditional XML.

• Familiarity with Robolectric and Mockito for test infrastructure and dependency mocking.

• Proficient in building and maintaining pipelines in CircleCI, as well as utilizing Bash/sh scripting for automation and result processing.

• Experience in sharding and parallelizing tests using Flank, as well as configuring device matrices within Firebase Test Lab or similar emulators.

• An understanding of the unique challenges associated with testing VPN applications, including network-dependent flows and managing connection-state instability.

• At least an upper-intermediate level of spoken and written English.
