QA Automation Engineer – Co-op

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create impactful test code: Develop automated test suites in Java that verify our core platform - authentic tests that identify genuine bugs.

• Test with system integrity in mind: Design tests based on real-world failure scenarios - what occurs when an API fails? When data is corrupted? When systems fall out of alignment?

• Engage with real integrations: Assess how data transfers between systems, confirm the correct functionality of APIs, and test the systems we create for actual businesses.

• Collaborate on quality assurance: Partner with developers to comprehend what is being constructed, propose methods to enhance code testability, and contribute to our quality strategies.

• Gain insights from dedicated engineers: Senior engineers will guide you in understanding quality, crafting sustainable test code, and recognizing how testing influences superior product design.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Strong background in Java - experience from academic projects is acceptable.

• Familiarity with testing frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, or similar - school projects are completely valid.

• Comfortable working with REST APIs.

• You instinctively consider edge cases - you're the one who questions "but what if it fails?"

• Nice to have (but don’t let this deter you from applying): Experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium, RestAssured, etc.).

• Knowledge of Spring or backend Java.

• Proficiency in JavaScript or scripting languages.

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with API or contract testing.
