QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the quality assurance process from start to finish and actively develop the automated testing framework.

• Grasp the functionality of a large, approximately 10-year-old, multi-repository system, understanding its operation from client, end-user, and internal operational viewpoints.

• Pose insightful questions and document expected behaviors when existing documentation is partially outdated.

• Create scenarios that are easily understandable in English using Cucumber and Gherkin.

• Develop automation solutions using JavaScript and TypeScript.

• Navigate the user interface via a page object model.

• Insert data-test-ids into React code where they are absent.

• Verify the accuracy of database state using SQL.

• Update and maintain automated tests as new features are introduced.

• Contribute to requirements early in the planning of new features.

• Identify compliance, regulatory, and security considerations.

• Conduct exploratory testing to uncover product behavior inconsistencies.

• Enhance reliability and facilitate quicker, safer releases through automation.

• Accurately replicate multi-step defects and identify potential edge cases.

• Establish a consistent, documented QA process derived from an unreliable starting point.

• Determine the expected behavior of the system from various user perspectives and identify potential failure points.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in Quality Assurance or test automation, with hands-on expertise in TypeScript or JavaScript.

• At least 4 years of practical test automation coding experience in TypeScript or JavaScript.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) test authoring using Cucumber and Gherkin.

• Over 3 years of experience in web UI test automation utilizing a page object model, preferably with Playwright.

• At least 2 years of complete ownership of end-to-end QA, encompassing defining, documenting, building, and maintaining tests.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in requirements analysis and stakeholder communication.

• At least 2 years of experience with SQL querying to validate database states, using MySQL or PostgreSQL.

• Over 3 years of exploratory testing experience and the ability to accurately reproduce multi-step defects.

• Capability to drive automation initiatives and manage builds with minimal guidance.

• Strong attention to detail, including the ability to identify edge cases and gaps in specifications.

• Hands-on experience with JavaScript or TypeScript automation coding is essential; a willingness to learn is not adequate.
