QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Assist in the creation and upkeep of automated tests (UI and API) utilizing tools like Cypress or comparable frameworks.

• Facilitate test coverage for features, encompassing regression and automation scenarios.

• Help identify chances to automate repetitive or manual testing processes.

• Conduct exploratory and manual testing to uncover bugs, edge cases, and usability concerns.

• Verify features against acceptance criteria and real-world conditions.

• Engage in sprint activities such as planning, grooming, and retrospectives.

• Work alongside engineers, product managers, and designers to grasp requirements and product behavior.

• Acquire and implement best practices for test automation, reliability, and maintainability.

• Contribute to documentation and the ongoing enhancement of QA processes.

• Promote a shared ownership model of quality by collaborating with engineers throughout the development lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• Recently obtained a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Science, or a related technical discipline.

• Experience through internships, co-ops, academic projects, or personal projects related to QA, testing, or software development is advantageous.

• Familiarity with automated testing tools (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Selenium) or a strong desire to learn about automation.

• Fundamental understanding of web applications and their functionality.

• Knowledge of a programming or scripting language (e.g., JavaScript, Python) or an eagerness to learn.

• Basic understanding of Agile development methodologies.

• Strong attention to detail and a curiosity about system operations.

• A problem-solving attitude with a willingness to ask questions and learn from feedback.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
