Python Software Engineer – Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Develop client-side code that is not only efficient but also high-performing, testable, scalable, secure, and of top-notch quality.

• Ensure the security of the code through Software Composition Analysis (SCA) and lead remediation efforts by triaging, prioritizing, remediating, and verifying.

• Deliver precise status tracking, reporting, and estimation utilizing project methodologies and tools.

• Collect requirements, validate the understanding within the team, and create and maintain necessary documentation.

• Carry out tasks within the established methodology while adhering to the highest quality standards.

• Cultivate collaboration with other engineers, designers, and managers to understand user challenges and refine solutions that enhance client success.

• Assume responsibility for projects, overseeing everything from technical design to successful implementation.

• Engage in code reviews to ensure code quality and consistency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven expertise with a minimum of 4+ years of experience in Python, REST API, and SQL.

• Proficient with Git source control tools (GitHub, GitLab, or others).

• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Pytest.

• Intermediate-level design skills adhering to UML / C4 / ArchiMate standards.

• Background in engineering software systems with medium to large scale and complexity.

• Familiarity with Agile software development practices.

• Competence with relational databases.

• Experience in developing frontend/backend applications at scale.

• Fluency in the English language.
