Python Developer – Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Create software services and APIs utilizing Python frameworks, preferably FastAPI.

• Design and oversee secure cloud infrastructure, encompassing networking elements such as WAF and CDN.

• Employ Terraform for Infrastructure as Code implementation.

• Deploy scalable services leveraging Kubernetes (AKS) and Docker.

• Develop comprehensive data solutions for real-time architectures utilizing Kafka/Kinesis alongside batch processing.

• Implement software design and architectural principles to tackle infrastructure and data modeling challenges.

• Set the technical direction and convey intricate architectures to stakeholders.

• Advocate for Python best practices, covering code versioning, debugging, performance enhancement, and troubleshooting high-throughput applications.

• Establish contemporary testing methodologies, automated testing frameworks, and quality assurance strategies.

• Integrate security throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Enhance applications and data pipelines for performance, resource efficiency, and operational visibility.

• Engage with CI/CD workflows, DevOps practices, and automated deployment pipelines.

• Support, monitor, and manage critical production systems.

• Diagnose complex incidents and lead post-mortem evaluations.

• Collaborate effectively within Agile environments and encourage continuous improvement.

• Articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and executive stakeholders in English.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience with Azure and cloud infrastructure (Networking, WAF, CDN).

• At least 7 years of experience in Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform.

• Practical experience with AKS / Kubernetes and Docker.

• A decade of Python development experience is required.

• Profound expertise in structuring Python projects and developing web services using FastAPI.

• Experience in creating AI-enabled applications, specifically in recommendation or conversational systems.

• Familiarity with evaluation frameworks for LLM or AI systems.

• Solid understanding of the distinctions between AI systems and traditional deterministic systems.

• Proficiency in English is essential.
