πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Collaborate with the PubSec Sales and Finance teams on government-related initiatives, contract negotiations, execution, and long-term compliance.

β€’ Review, draft, negotiate, and provide support for a variety of government contracts and bid documents, which include RFPs, RFIs, teaming agreements, statements of work (SOWs), amendments, task orders, collaboration agreements, distribution agreements, reseller agreements, and subcontracts.

β€’ Offer expert advice on FAR, DFARS, and associated agency regulations, covering clause applicability, flow-down requirements, and U.S. federal government data rights provisions, including intellectual property and technical data rights in software developed under government funding.

β€’ Provide guidance on compliance issues such as cost accounting, audits, data rights, cybersecurity obligations, sam.gov administration, and procurement integrity.

β€’ Develop and manage compliance initiatives and programs, including scalable processes, templates, and training related to government contracting compliance.

β€’ Work with internal stakeholders to ensure systems meet all legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations as the business expands.

β€’ Assist with state and local (SLED) and international public sector transactions as a secondary focus.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Extensive federal contracting knowledge: practical experience with the FAR, DFARS, GSA Schedules, IDIQ vehicles, OTAs, and DoD requirements, preferably as in-house counsel at a tech firm servicing government clients, with experience on both prime and subcontracting sides.

β€’ Strong business and legal judgment: ability to navigate ambiguity, balance independent decision-making with stakeholder engagement, and provide risk-based, pragmatic guidance that extends beyond merely identifying issues.

β€’ High emotional intelligence and a collaborative nature: exceptional communication skills and presence to effectively partner with sales, finance, senior leadership, and external parties.

β€’ Self-motivation and ownership: ability to manage your own workload, establish processes from scratch, and excel without a large support team.

β€’ Adaptability in fast-paced, high-growth settings: capability to manage changing priorities and maintain effectiveness while the surrounding structure is evolving.

β€’ A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one state.
