This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• This position serves as a "jumper" role, rotating between Public Health Admin and Public Health Officer within the same contract.
• Responsible for steering and coordinating the implementation of the company's shipboard Public Health and Outbreak Prevention and Response Plan (OPRP), ensuring that public health and infectious disease standards are met and/or exceeded onboard.
• Collaborate and coordinate tasks, responsibilities, and duties with the Hotel Sanitation Officer, Hotel Sanitation Manager, Sanitation Engineer, and all shipboard departments to guarantee comprehension and execution of the Public Health and Outbreak Prevention and Response Plan (OPRP) requirements alongside related company policies and procedures.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of risk reduction strategies, actions, and interventions.
• Implement company policies and port state regulations that ensure the health and safety of the vessel, crew, and guests.
• Conduct Public Health and OPRP training for all Crew members, Supervisors, and Officers.
• Carry out other related duties as assigned or directed by the Staff Captain.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Public Health & Hygiene or Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor within the cruise or hotel industry is mandatory.
• Additional experience in Environmental waste management will be considered an asset.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
• Must possess SHIPSAN or equivalent public health regulations training.
• Ability to demonstrate a profound understanding of multicultural sensitivity and communication skills is essential.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary.
• Must exhibit confidence in using personal initiative along with the ability to work independently.
• Capacity to perform under pressure and solve problems effectively is required.
• Must have a service-oriented mindset with an outgoing and friendly demeanor.
• Must possess and confidently demonstrate a thorough understanding of standards for Ship’s Sanitation.
