Public Health and Epidemiology Associate Editor – 2 Year Full Time Contract

📋 Description

• Act as a key point of escalation for intricate and detailed editorial inquiries.

• Assist various teams at PLOS, editorial board members, and external editorial groups to maintain high standards of scientific rigor and editorial integrity.

• Assess submissions and make informed decisions based on feedback from reviewers.

• Engage in initiatives aimed at shaping editorial policy and enhancing the visibility and reputation of journals within the PLOS portfolio.

• Address queries related to publication ethics.

• Foster relationships with individuals in the academic community.

• Exhibit a positive and constructive attitude towards change and embrace a growth mindset.

• Background in a research setting, publishing, or a related field.

• Highly organized and efficient, demonstrating strong critical evaluation and problem-solving skills.

• Outstanding communication and presentation abilities, both written and spoken.

• Capable of working under tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy.

• Proficient in setting priorities and working independently.

• A postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline is required.

• Ability to remain stationary at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.

• Occasional national and international travel may be necessary.

• Some flexibility to work across various time zones is expected.
