This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Norway.
• Oversee and guide the formulation and execution of TNC's long-term strategy for engagement and resource mobilization concerning biodiversity and climate with key public sector entities in Norway, including Norad, Norway's Ministry of Climate and Environment, and Norway's International Climate and Forest Initiative.
• Establish partnerships and pinpoint opportunities for public funding, blended finance, and innovative financial mechanisms with Nordic bilateral and multilateral organizations, such as Ministries of Foreign Affairs and development aid departments.
• Provide senior leadership and strategic insight within TNC regarding funding trends and positioning opportunities from Norway and other Nordic governments and affiliated organizations.
• Collaborate with TNC's Europe Public Funding Manager to develop and sustain a proactive pipeline of potential funding opportunities that align with TNC's priorities, utilizing both competitive proposal calls and proactive positioning of TNC projects for collaborative funding.
• Partner with teams executing projects funded by Nordic donors to ensure the high-quality, timely, and compliant delivery of contracts and grants, allowing TNC to remain the preferred partner for these public donors and their associated institutions.
• Investigate, identify, and advocate for the creation of blended finance opportunities with Nordic development financial institutions and funds that can mobilize public-private funding sources for climate and biodiversity, along with other innovative financial mechanisms.
• Bachelor's degree and over 5 years of experience working with Norway's and other Nordic public institutions, as well as their funded programs and financing initiatives for biodiversity and climate.
• In-depth knowledge of Norway's global priorities in climate and biodiversity, related financing streams, and program cycles, complemented by a well-established network of strategic relationships.
• Understanding of the public development aid landscape and a solid network of connections with other key Nordic agencies focused on climate and biodiversity, as well as development financial institutions and funds.
• Proven track record of identifying and securing public sector funding, particularly in environmental and/or climate-related domains.
• Demonstrated experience in engaging with Norway's and other Nordic institutions and navigating public funding programs and blended finance mechanisms.
• Established experience in managing and coordinating strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders across various priorities and topics.
• Experience in implementing and overseeing multiple complex projects, ensuring timely delivery within agreed budgets.
• Familiarity with client management databases and tracking tools.
• Proficiency in Norwegian and English; proficiency in additional European languages is advantageous.
