This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
β’ Deliver Advanced Practice Provider services, encompassing the assessment and management of patients in various clinical environments.
β’ Conduct virtual consultations within an outpatient-only practice.
β’ Collaborate with the medical director, administrative management, nursing staff, and interprofessional team members to enhance patient care.
β’ Independently evaluate, diagnose, and initiate medical processes and procedures based on training, experience, and credentials.
β’ Carry out and document thorough health histories and physical assessments, including emergency interventions when necessary.
β’ Develop diagnoses, recognize issues and health-risk profiles, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
β’ Execute, order, and interpret diagnostic tests such as x-rays and laboratory analyses.
β’ Perform procedures within the scope of practice and in alignment with UVA Health System credentialing and privileges.
β’ Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapies in compliance with Virginia prescribing regulations.
β’ Initiate consultations and referrals to specialists as required.
β’ Assess patient responses to disease processes and therapeutic or diagnostic interventions.
β’ Inform and support patients and their families regarding disease processes and treatment plans.
β’ Engage in on-call duties as determined by the department or unit.
β’ Manage patients in accordance with UVA Medical Center and UVA UPG policies and procedures.
β’ Report births, deaths, communicable disease outbreaks, and other legally mandated health information.
β’ Adhere to quality standards set forth by the Medical Director and/or UVA Health System.
β’ Participate in committees, student clinical experiences, and peer or other review activities upon request.
β’ Prepare necessary reports, claims, and correspondence for professional services.
β’ Act as a clinical resource for nursing, medical, and allied health practitioners.
β’ Follow UPG, UVA Medical Center, CMS, and contracted payer policies and procedures.
β’ Accurately assign CPT and ICD-10 codes.
β’ Maintain practice standards through ongoing education and professional development activities.
β’ Perform additional duties aligned with licensed independent provider services.
β’ 2β3 years of relevant experience required.
β’ Must be a resident of Virginia.
β’ Must hold a valid license in Virginia.
β’ Graduate from an accredited graduate nursing or physician assistant program with a masterβs degree.
β’ License or eligibility for licensure as an Advanced Practice Provider in accordance with Virginia state regulations.
β’ If a Nurse Practitioner, a license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia is mandatory.
β’ Must meet and sustain all credentialing and licensing standards of UVA Health System, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and relevant certifying bodies.
β’ Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
β’ Current PALS/NRP certification as required, specific to the position.
β’ Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, as needed, specific to the position.
β’ Strong communication, auditory, and visual skills.
β’ Attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
β’ Capacity to lift/push/pull between 50β100 lbs.
β’ Potential exposure to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases.
β’ $10,000 guaranteed incentive in the first two years of employment.
