Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and manage medication visits for participants in the FamilyWell program through telehealth, focusing on the short-term management of mental health issues during the perinatal period and/or those undergoing peri/menopause. Offer treatment recommendations for patients who may require more intensive or specialized mental health services.

• Provide pre-conception medication consultations and psycho-education for individuals attempting to conceive while currently being treated with psychotropic medications.

• Execute asynchronous caseload consultations by reviewing clinical information prepared by the patient's care team and examining available medical records. These consultations primarily target patients who are either new to the caseload or not showing expected improvement under their current treatment plan, offering recommendations for future treatment steps.

• Ensure documentation for case consultations and direct patient visits is completed within 24 hours after the visit.

• Collaborate with care managers to monitor the status and overall health of their assigned patient caseload. The psychiatric consultant will utilize FamilyWell’s registry to track all assigned patients and prioritize those for case review and treatment modifications.

• Provide educational support to the care team regarding the diagnosis and management of behavioral health conditions.

• Be available for occasional ad hoc consultations via telephone, email, or telehealth for OB providers dealing with complex patients or challenging situations during regular working hours. Maintain professional cell phone and email accounts for business hours contact, checking these accounts daily and responding to email inquiries or consultations within two business days, or sooner if urgent.

⛳️ Requirements

• Licensed psychiatric nurse practitioner in Pennsylvania.

• Capable of practicing independently without supervision in the states of licensure.

• Possess an active DEA license in the states of licensure.

• Hold an active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

• Exceptional communication skills.

• A positive, adaptable, and solution-oriented mindset.

• Ability to swiftly synthesize medical and psychiatric data to make effective and evidence-based clinical recommendations.

• Committed, motivated, and inspired by a mission to enhance mental healthcare delivery during the perinatal and/or perimenopause periods, particularly for vulnerable patient populations.

• Relevant experience or interest in perinatal or perimenopause mental health and collaborative care.
