This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Confirms test requisitions by cross-referencing details with orders and requisition documentation; alerts Natera product management leadership about any discrepancies.
• Verifies patient identity by checking patient identification.
• Collects blood samples through venipunctures and finger sticks.
• Preserves specimen integrity by employing aseptic techniques and adhering to Natera protocols; follows isolation procedures diligently.
• Monitors collected specimens by initialing, dating, and recording collection times; keeps daily tallies of collections in the system provided by Natera.
• Ensures quality outcomes by adhering to Natera guidelines and testing schedules; documents results in the quality-control log; identifies and reports necessary changes while communicating KPIs to product management leadership biweekly.
• Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by complying with standards and procedures; adheres to legal regulations.
• Addresses unusual test orders by reaching out to the physician, pathologist, nursing station, or reference laboratory; refers unresolved orders back to the originator for further clarification; informs the internal Natera team of unresolved orders.
• Enhances job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities, reading professional literature, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
• Bolsters Natera’s phlebotomy reputation by taking ownership of new and diverse requests; seeks opportunities to add value to job achievements.
• Employees must complete training related to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training, and security training as soon as possible, but no later than the first 30 days of employment.
• Report any SPI, CAPA, or NCR issues to the internal Natera product management leadership team.
• Assists in managing all phlebotomy equipment necessary for the operation of the patient service center, which may include lifting supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
• May involve reimbursable travel for stocking supplies.
• May include onboarding, training, and retraining of individual phlebotomists as needed to accommodate volume increases.
• Aids in managing Patient Service Center vendors.
• Supports phlebotomy program management: oversees distribution and claiming of blood draws, monitors customer feedback, and manages minor escalations as necessary.
• Addresses scheduling challenges.
• Ensures ongoing and transparent communication regarding the status of blood draws.
• Possesses general phlebotomy knowledge specific to the PSC’s location in compliance with state regulations.
• A minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience.
• Over 5 years of high-level customer care experience.
• Experience in managing/supervising phlebotomy operations and teams is preferred.
• BS/BA degree is preferred.
• A High School Diploma (or equivalent) is required.
• Phlebotomy Certification (or equivalent) is preferred, unless mandated by regulatory requirements based on state law.
• Previous experience with financial and budgetary responsibilities is preferred.
• Bilingual language skills are preferred.
