Proposal Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Create proposal responses addressing functional and operational subjects such as Claims, Staffing, Finance, Corporate Capabilities, Account Management, and Resumes.

• Collaborate with Proposal Managers, Capture Managers, and subject matter experts to collect information, generate content, and aid in the development of proposal responses.

• Engage with and interview SMEs to gather and identify information necessary for compliant and persuasive responses.

• Implement bid guidance, proposal requirements, and internal quality standards to the sections assigned to you.

• Take part in kick-off meetings, color team reviews, status meetings, and significant proposal milestones.

• Follow internal procedures and communicate any proposal-related risks to the proposal team.

• Review Pink and Red Team comments and prepare drafts for review sessions.

• Integrate feedback from proposal leaders, reviewers, and SMEs into your work.

• Enhance your understanding of Medicaid programs, Aetna solutions, procurement processes, and proposal best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare, managed care, government procurements, or healthcare operations.

• Eagerness to learn and develop expertise in the Medicaid business.

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

• Strong command of English grammar, including flow, clarity, tone, and voice.

• Demonstrated facilitation abilities.

• Excellent reading comprehension with experience in analyzing and summarizing complex contractual and legal documents.

• Strong skills in time management, planning, and coordination.

• Capability to work independently and deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines.

• Strong collaborative skills with SMEs, contributors, writing teams, and production teams.

• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and implement creative solutions.

• Willingness to receive and apply feedback constructively.

• Interest in gaining knowledge in Medicaid programs, managed care, and healthcare procurements.

• 1–3 years of experience in crafting compelling, audience-focused Medicaid proposal responses preferred.

• APMP Foundation Certification preferred or a readiness to pursue certification.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
