This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct investigations, evaluations, negotiations, and resolutions of commercial property claims.
• Create and execute strategies for resolving moderate to high-severity and complex commercial property claims.
• Manage claim volumes as required.
• Collaborate with various team members within Coterie on processes, products, projects, insurance, and enterprise initiatives.
• Examine claims and analyze insured materials, documents, and reports.
• Identify and evaluate coverage issues.
• Draft letters outlining coverage positions.
• Engage coverage counsel when necessary and review their opinions and analyses.
• Formulate strategies for coverage issues that align with the overall claim-handling approach.
• Assess coverage and damages to estimate and recommend reserves appropriately.
• Maintain claim diaries and record reserves in a timely manner.
• Address inquiries from insured parties, counsel, underwriters, brokers, and senior management.
• Negotiate resolutions for claims.
• Oversee risk transfer, subrogation, additional insured, and contractual indemnity matters.
• Prepare and deliver both written and oral reports to senior management regarding claim evaluations and reserve recommendations.
• Availability to work core hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in your time zone; additional off-hours may be required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience with an insurance company and/or insurance claims loss adjustment service provider focusing on property and casualty claims.
• Extensive knowledge of the insurance industry and claims operations, especially in commercial property and casualty claims.
• Understanding of policy construction and ISO Commercial BOP forms.
• Proper adjuster licensing in all relevant states.
• Familiarity with legal concepts and processes.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication, influencing, evaluation, negotiation, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Capability to engage in active strategic discussions.
• Excellent collaboration skills; self-driven and proactive.
• Ability to distill daily work into trends, themes, successes, and opportunities over time.
• Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and client service abilities.
• Capacity to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Practical experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
• A college degree is preferred.
• AIC and PTC designations are advantageous.
