This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +44 more states.
• Investigate and address Homeowners claims of moderate complexity in a prompt and efficient manner.
• Document findings with photographs, measurements, and recorded interviews as necessary, write a repair estimate to capture damages, and complete comprehensive file notes.
• Utilize imagery and advanced video technology to collaborate with onsite vendors and insured individuals to identify damage and generate damage estimates from a virtual setting.
• Compare the facts collected during the investigation against the policy to assess claim coverage; extend or deny coverage as appropriate.
• Establish reserve amounts within the defined settlement authority limit and negotiate claim settlements; recommend claims that exceed personal authority limits to the supervisor for approval.
• Responsible for effective and timely communication with insureds and/or their representatives to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction. This includes prompt responses to phone calls, emails, texts, written communication, and compliance with Department of Insurance requirements.
• Prioritize personal responsibilities and effectively manage the claims workload to regularly monitor progress and expenses, ensuring proper resolution of inventory to conclusion.
• Occasionally oversee, monitor, and review files managed by independent adjusters until resolution.
• Additional functions may be assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to obtain state-specific property claims licensing as required.
• Must successfully participate in and complete a formal property claims training program that may occur in-person, virtually, or a combination of both.
• Previous experience using estimating software such as Xactimate.
• Experience in a related field: property claims, customer service, construction, restoration, or mitigation.
• Known for clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Bilingual capabilities and/or prior military experience is a plus.
• 3-5+ years of equivalent industry experience is preferred.
