Property Claims Examiner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Oversee and modify first-party property claims, ensuring exceptional customer service and high-quality technical claim files.

• Gather all relevant documentation pertaining to the loss.

• Delegate and supervise the work of independent adjusters and other service providers.

• Assess loss and policy details to make appropriate coverage determinations.

• Promptly refer cases to the Claims Manager concerning potential large losses or coverage issues.

• Establish and uphold adequate and timely indemnity and expense reserves within the examiner's authority, or provide recommendations for reserve adjustments.

• Analyze and prepare coverage letters as necessary, effectively communicating coverage positions.

• Create Large Loss reports and engage in Large Loss Committee and/or Reinsurance reviews.

• Conduct, coordinate, and proactively manage the cause and origin investigation process, ensuring timely identification and pursuit of subrogation.

• Inspect losses in the field as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent life experience.

• New York State General Adjuster’s license.

• Strong telephone etiquette.

• Proficient in using a PC.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Ability to multitask and possess strong organizational skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capable of analyzing problems, evaluating options, and selecting the best course of action.

• Strong negotiation skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others.

• Strong work ethic and discipline.

• Familiarity with ImageRight and Origami claims management systems is a plus.
