Project Safety Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily operations to guarantee adherence to company safety protocols, OSHA standards, NFPA 70E, and other relevant guidelines.

• Perform routine safety inspections and audits at the site, concentrating on electrical risks, fall protection, lockout/tagout, and other critical activities.

• Ensure that teams are equipped with appropriate PPE, tools, and functional equipment.

• Facilitate or support site safety orientations and toolbox discussions.

• Convey safety expectations to employees, subcontractors, and visitors.

• Offer immediate safety coaching and corrections as necessary.

• Detect unsafe conditions and at-risk behaviors, record findings, and follow up on corrective measures.

• Assist with Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Pre-Task Planning (PTP) to ensure hazards are mitigated before commencing work.

• React to and aid in managing incidents, near misses, and first aid situations.

• Conduct initial incident investigations and assist with root cause analysis.

• Keep precise records of inspections, incidents, and safety-related activities.

• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and corporate safety team to uphold a secure jobsite.

• Aid in the formulation and execution of site-specific safety plans.

• Support subcontractor adherence to safety regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient understanding of OSHA construction standards and electrical safety regulations (including NFPA 70E).

• Knowledge of prevalent electrical construction hazards, PPE standards, fall protection, and lockout/tagout protocols.

• Familiarity with safety inspections, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and Pre-Task Planning (PTP) processes.

• Awareness of incident reporting, near-miss documentation, and corrective action procedures.

• Background in electrical work and knowledge.

• Capability to identify unsafe conditions and actions, implementing corrective measures swiftly.

• Excellent communication skills to effectively relay safety expectations, coaching, and toolbox discussions.

• Strong documentation and reporting abilities for inspections, incidents, and safety-related activities.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with project management, field leadership, and subcontractors.

• Strong organizational and time management skills in dynamic construction settings.

• Capacity to maintain a visible, proactive safety presence on active electrical construction sites.

• Ability to influence safe work practices across all workforce levels.

• Capability to respond calmly and effectively in incidents and emergencies.

• Ability to work independently while assisting multiple crews or work areas.

• Adaptability to evolving jobsite conditions and project timelines.

• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification - preferred.

• OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification (minimum).

• First Aid / CPR / AED certification.

• NFPA 70E Electrical Safety certification - preferred.

• Competent Person certification (Fall Protection, Excavation, or LOTO) – preferred.

• Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to project locations.
