This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
β’ Oversee the comprehensive delivery of on-site data collection projects that support user studies (e.g., usability testing, in-context or field research, intercepts, and diary studies with in-person elements).
β’ Develop and maintain detailed project plans and timelines (including workback plans, run-of-show agendas, staffing schedules, milestones, and dependencies) to guarantee timely execution.
β’ Manage budget responsibilities: forecasting, monitoring expenditures against the plan, liaising with vendors and contractors, controlling project scope, and documenting change requests.
β’ Create and present client-focused presentations: project kickoffs, weekly status updates, risk and issue assessments, and final project summaries; articulate complex information into straightforward narratives.
β’ Organize on-site logistics: ensuring site readiness, managing staffing, coordinating equipment and materials, overseeing shipping, securing access/security requirements, managing participant flow, and preparing contingency plans.
β’ Lead and support project team members (including internal staff, contractors, and vendors): establish expectations, delegate tasks, track deliverables, eliminate obstacles, provide constructive feedback, and uphold accountability.
β’ Ensure data integrity and adherence to study requirements (such as consent, privacy/PII handling, and documentation standards).
β’ Maintain thorough project documentation and reporting (including status reports, action logs, risk registers, budget trackers, and timeline updates).
β’ Proactively identify risks and facilitate mitigation strategies (such as no-shows, site limitations, equipment malfunctions, and vendor delays), providing clear options and recommendations when escalating issues.
β’ A minimum of 3 years of project management experience in on-site data collection, research operations, or user study execution.
β’ Proven abilities in: time management, budget oversight, client-oriented presentations, attention to detail, and management of team members.
β’ Experience in coordinating vendors, contractors, and field teams effectively.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong stakeholder management capabilities.
β’ Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
β’ Bachelor's degree (at minimum) in a relevant field such as Business Management, Economics, Computer Science, or a comparable area of study/experience.
