This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Lead the comprehensive execution of on-site data collection projects that support user studies, including usability tests, in-context or field research, intercepts, and diary studies with in-person elements.
• Develop and oversee intricate project plans and schedules, including workback plans, run-of-show agendas, staffing schedules, milestones, and dependencies to guarantee timely execution.
• Take ownership of budget management tasks: forecasting, monitoring expenditures against the plan, managing vendors and contractors, controlling project scope, and documenting any change requests.
• Create and present client-facing materials, including kick-off meetings, weekly status updates, risk and issue assessments, and final project summaries, while translating complex information into understandable narratives.
• Coordinate on-site logistics, encompassing site readiness, staffing, equipment and materials, shipping, access and security requirements, participant flow, and contingency planning.
• Manage and provide support to project team members, which includes internal staff, contractors, and vendors: set clear expectations, assign tasks, monitor deliverables, eliminate obstacles, give feedback, and ensure accountability.
• Ensure data integrity and compliance with study requirements, including consent protocols, privacy and PII handling, and documentation standards.
• Maintain thorough project documentation and reporting, including status reports, action logs, risk registers, budget trackers, and timeline updates.
• Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies for issues such as no-shows, site constraints, equipment failures, and vendor delays, while escalating with well-defined options and recommendations.
• Over 3 years of project management experience in on-site data collection, research operations, and/or execution of user studies.
• Proven strengths in time management, budget oversight, client-facing presentations, attention to detail, and team management.
• Experience in coordinating with vendors, contractors, and field teams effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote work environment.
• A Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in a relevant field such as Business Management, Economics, Computer Science, or another equivalent discipline or experience.
