Project Manager II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage all aspects of high-voltage substation and transmission projects, including initiatives related to renewable energy and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

• Direct the project life cycle from initial conception through to final delivery, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, and budgetary constraints.

• Develop, manage, and control project budgets while adhering to contractual obligations.

• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure precise project cost forecasting.

• Coordinate efforts with multi-disciplinary teams, clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

• Serve as the primary contact for clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.

• Provide consistent project updates and compile comprehensive reports on project status, risks, and opportunities.

• Identify project risks, formulate mitigation strategies, and escalate issues as necessary.

• Ensure adherence to regulations, quality standards, and safety protocols.

• Offer strategic insights into project planning and execution.

• Contribute to high-level decision-making that affects project outcomes and enduring client relationships.

• Develop best practices, tools, and methodologies to enhance project management processes.

• Perform additional job-related tasks as requested by management.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant project management experience, with significant involvement in high-voltage substation and/or transmission line projects within an EPC environment.

• Practical experience with grid integration, energy storage technologies, and energy management systems is preferred.

• A bachelor's degree in Finance, Project Management, or Construction Management is required; equivalent years of experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

• A Master's degree in Business Administration is preferred.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) or a similar certification is preferred.

• A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.

• Strong leadership and team management abilities.

• Demonstrated capability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects.

• Extensive knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems, substations, and transmission lines.

• Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, energy storage systems (such as lithium-ion batteries and flow batteries), and their integration into the grid.

• Advanced project management competencies, including budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and contract administration.

• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and the MS Office Suite.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams at all levels.

• Ability to think strategically and make decisions that align with organizational objectives.

• Must reside in Austin/Bastrop.

• Occasional travel to project sites may be necessary.
