• Strategically plan and manage the complete delivery of assigned heavy civil projects, which includes identifying risks, planning projects, and implementing contingencies.
• Ensure that projects are executed safely, on time, within scope and budget, while adhering to regulatory, environmental, and health and safety standards.
• Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with clients, managing their expectations and resolving issues to guarantee satisfaction.
• Exhibit visible leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection across all projects.
• Verify that construction aligns with approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, quality benchmarks, and relevant codes.
• Collaboratively develop and manage construction schedules with the project team to achieve milestones and completion dates.
• Inspire, mentor, and motivate construction teams to fulfill project objectives.
• Monitor, manage, and report on project financials, including forecasting and billing activities.
• Oversee procurement tasks, which involve negotiations and awards for subcontractors, trades, and suppliers.
• A degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and extensive hands-on experience in heavy civil construction.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in managing heavy civil construction projects, with a proven track record of responsibility for schedule, cost, quality, and safety performance.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and lead project teams in dynamic, field-oriented settings.
• Strong leadership capabilities with a talent for motivating, mentoring, and collaborating effectively with superintendents, forepersons, and crews.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the confidence to engage clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders through verbal, written, and electronic means.
• Experience in hydroelectric or hydro-related projects is considered a significant asset.
• A valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and a willingness to travel to various project sites as needed.
