This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate closely with partners, including federal, state, and local government agencies, academic institutions, non-profit organizations, and volunteer groups.
• With additional staff oversight, identify, develop, and implement restoration initiatives aimed at rehabilitating and enhancing habitats for native Brook Trout and other aquatic species.
• Participate in identifying funding sources, preparing budgets and proposals, and securing funding for habitat restoration initiatives.
• Assist with the permitting process.
• Support geomorphic surveys to gather data for road-stream crossing replacements and habitat restoration projects.
• Convey project information and successes to diverse audiences.
• Collaborate with TU chapters and other volunteer organizations to engage them in project efforts.
• Adhere to all TU policies related to federal and state grant compliance, including procurement procedures.
• Act as a TU representative for state-based professional groups and partnerships.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• At least two years of pertinent professional experience in conservation project management.
• A solid understanding of the principles and practices of fisheries, aquatic resource management, geomorphology, or restoration design and engineering.
• Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication abilities.
• Familiarity with federal and state laws and regulations related to instream and riparian work.
• Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision while being a proactive team player dedicated to achieving conservation goals.
• Self-motivated with problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
• Experience in grant writing, grant management, or other fundraising activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
• Willingness and ability to travel.
• Openness to working at project sites in remote areas.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
