• Oversee and lead Aflatoun’s Project Management Unit (PMU)
• Integrate hands-on project management with coordination and oversight duties throughout Aflatoun’s project portfolio
• Manage strategic partnerships and projects funded by corporate and government sources
• Serve as the primary point of coordination and relationship management for a portfolio of key institutional and private-sector partners
• Directly oversee complex multi-stakeholder projects
• Supervise and support the Project Manager responsible for grant-funded and development donor initiatives
• Ensure quality delivery, compliance, and alignment across the extensive project portfolio
• Oversee the daily operations of the PMU, currently made up of the PMU Manager and one Project Manager
• Conduct regular coordination meetings and offer guidance and technical support
• Ensure the consistent implementation of project management processes, tools, and standards across the organization
• Continuously assess and enhance PMU systems, workflows, and project tracking tools
• Collaborate closely with the Operations & Finance department for financial reporting, budget tracking, compliance, and effective information exchange
• Assist in future PMU growth and staffing requirements as the project portfolio expands
• Annually review and update the project management manual and associated procedures
• Lead the planning, execution, and oversight of assigned projects from initiation through to closure
• Develop comprehensive project plans, budgets, timelines, and resource allocations in partnership with internal teams and external collaborators
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, consultants, and partners to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery
• Act as the primary contact for corporate and government stakeholders
• Monitor project progress, deliverables, risks, and budgets, proactively addressing challenges and finding solutions
• Ensure projects adhere to contractual obligations, partner expectations, and organizational standards
• Prepare high-quality narrative reports, presentations, updates, and partnership documentation
• At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in project management, partnership management, account management, or program coordination roles
• Proven experience managing corporate, government, institutional, or donor-funded projects involving multiple stakeholders
• Experience in an NGO, international development, education, or social impact setting is highly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise staff, enhance team capacity, and promote collaboration
• Bachelor’s degree in project management, international development, business administration, public administration, or a related area
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (fluency required)
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities with confidence in engaging external partners
• Outstanding planning, organizational, and coordination skills with keen attention to detail
• Capability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced international context
• Target-driven and solution-oriented management style with a proactive, hands-on approach
• Strong budgeting, reporting, and resource management capabilities
• High level of professionalism, negotiation, and representational skills
• Familiarity with project management and organizational systems such as Monday.com, CRM systems, Exact Online, or similar platforms is advantageous
• Experience working within multicultural and international teams.
