Project Hydrogeologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Report directly to the Victorian Team Lead.

• Offer technical and field support in areas such as water resources, contaminated land, groundwater, oil and gas, chemical and heavy industry, and landfill initiatives.

• Manage, analyze, and present environmental investigation and monitoring data, including groundwater, surface water, soil, recovery, and additional data.

• Collect and compile desktop data.

• Review technical guidance documents, regulations, and relevant case studies.

• Assist in the preparation of reports and written deliverables, including monitoring reports, pump test reports, environmental site assessments, work plans, health and safety plans, and proposals.

• Provide specialized technical knowledge in groundwater flow and well hydraulics.

• Support contaminated land assessments, especially for the landfill team.

• Develop conceptual site models.

• Aid in mining and CSG water management.

• Coordinate and execute environmental field programs.

• Log, drill, and oversee well installations.

• Set up, monitor, and analyze pumping tests.

• Evaluate and sample soils.

• Monitor groundwater and surface water levels.

• Conduct various environmental inspection and monitoring programs.

• Supervise subcontractors in the field, including drilling and excavation teams.

• Plan and execute project scope, schedules, and budgets.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in hydrogeology, geology, environmental science, or environmental engineering.

• A postgraduate degree in hydrogeology is preferred, though not mandatory.

• Up to three years of experience in a relevant environmental position.

• Training and experience in groundwater and soil sampling techniques.

• Ideally, some experience in pumping test analysis.

• A developing understanding of environmental and resource regulations.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

• Experience with Power BI and other database management tools is preferred, but not essential.

• Skills in pump test analysis.

• Experience within Australia is advantageous.

• Current eligibility to work in Australia (citizenship or valid visa) is required.

• A valid Australian state driving license is preferred.
