This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist the CIO and Project Finance team with all aspects of debt, tax equity, and other project-level financing processes for the company’s solar and/or storage portfolios, including identifying optimal financing structures, collaborating with lenders and investors, and negotiating financing contracts.
• Aid in building and maintaining financial models while coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure a streamlined and uniform approach to investment decisions.
• Collaborate across various teams, including Engineering, Business Development, Treasury, Legal, and others within SolAmerica, to guarantee that accurate inputs and clear communications are reflected in all Project Finance deliverables.
• Provide valuable insights and thorough analysis for the assessment of project portfolios that are both owned and in development.
• Analyze and interpret large volumes of data to assist Business Development and Origination with PPA pricing and scenario evaluations.
• Liaise with third-party consultants to ensure the timely acquisition of Independent Engineer reports, appraisals, insurance reports, and other necessary documentation for financing processes.
• Build and nurture relationships with stakeholders across the Renewables and Energy Transition sectors to utilize industry contacts for future opportunities.
• Keep comprehensive coverage of the company’s target markets, understanding current market dynamics, regulations, key players in each market, and other significant economic factors that impact the company’s initiatives in those markets.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to analysts, as needed.
• BA/BS required, preferably in a quantitative, business, or technical discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in the Solar Energy sector and Project Finance.
• Demonstrated skills and experience in project-level financing within the solar energy industry.
• Understanding of the development and due diligence processes necessary for successfully financing energy projects.
• Proven experience with Excel spreadsheets, financial modeling, and data analysis.
• Familiarity with financial and accounting principles, as well as knowledge of electricity industry participants, economics, and trends.
• Proficient in using computers, Microsoft Office, and Adobe software.
