Project Finance Analyst

📋 Description

• Recovering revenue through organized financial reconciliations for both ongoing and concluding studies.

• Accelerating cash collection by managing manual billing for a specified portfolio of central lab studies.

• Enhancing client relationships by promptly and accurately addressing invoicing inquiries.

• Assisting the finance team's broader transformation as Cerba Research transitions to full SAP implementation.

• Conducting financial reconciliations for clinical studies — comparing revenues, budgets, and invoiced amounts, identifying discrepancies, and driving their resolution.

• Performing manual billing for a defined set of central lab studies, ensuring precision and punctuality.

• Reviewing and managing project budgets to ensure they align with contract terms and reflect any subsequent change orders.

• Tracking project revenues and expenses monthly, providing variance analysis for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Ensuring accurate revenue recognition based on study progression, contract stipulations, and accounting standards.

• Collaborating with Accounts Receivable to facilitate timely invoicing and payment collection.

• Working cross-functionally with Project Managers, Finance, Lab Ops, and the Contracts & Proposals team to resolve financial inquiries and discrepancies.

• Supporting both internal and external audits by supplying necessary financial documentation.

• Contributing to automation projects, including tools for financial reconciliation and profitability tracking.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.

• Experience in financial analysis, particularly in project finance within the Life Sciences, Clinical Trials, CRO, or Biotech sectors.

• Strong foundation in revenue recognition, contract financials, clinical trial budgeting, and billing processes.

• Proficiency in financial systems such as SAP, CTMS, and Excel, along with a keen interest in future developments (automation, AI-assisted tools).

• A self-motivated individual who can independently navigate from brief to output without excessive guidance.

• Exceptional communication skills — comfortable interacting with external clients and internal cross-functional teams.

• CPA, CFA, or PMP certification is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Residing in the Netherlands or Belgium (hybrid/remote), or remote from the UK, with full work authorization in your country of residence.

• Proficient in English; additional skills in Dutch or French are beneficial but not essential.
