• Power distribution system design, which includes specifying and selecting equipment for power and communication systems. This involves interpreting written scopes of work, engaging with clients to comprehend their requirements, and clearly defining engineering tasks.
• Creation of electrical drawings, such as one-line, three-line, communication, and wiring diagrams.
• Documenting and effectively communicating with both internal and external stakeholders, which includes report writing and summary presentations.
• Designing control systems and logic, which encompasses determining and implementing suitable control sequences.
• Offering technical guidance to engineers on project teams to ensure adherence to design standards and work practices. This also includes developing standard operating procedures for use by other team members.
• Creating settings for and programming microprocessor relays, microgrid controllers, and programmable logic controllers, as well as testing and commissioning software, communication systems, relays, and power systems (either on-site or via remote support).
• Interpreting and applying industry standards and regulations, including NERC, FERC, IEEE, IEC standards, and international power market processes.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, along with 6-10 years of relevant experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of SCADA systems and communication protocols such as Modbus and DNP3.
• Familiarity with codes and standards, including NEC, NESC, and other pertinent power system regulations.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation abilities.
• Experience in commissioning power system projects.
• Background in electrical power generation, distribution, and/or microgrids.
• Acquaintance with substation Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs).
• Proficient hands-on capability for hardware deburring and strong skills in system-level integration.
• Willingness to travel to project and/or customer locations up to 20% of the time, including occasional trips lasting over 7 days.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build meaningful relationships based on trust and respect, resolve conflicts, moderate behaviors, and promote collaborative working relationships across diverse groups.
• Effective communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation), enabling interaction with key stakeholders in both technical and non-technical roles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.), with advanced Excel skills and experience using Power BI or similar tools.
