This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Perform audits and site inspections of operational data centers.
• Gather equipment nameplate information, field measurements, and operating conditions.
• Assess field findings for precision and thoroughness.
• Document current systems through comprehensive notes, photographs, and sketches.
• Ensure that documentation adheres to internal quality standards.
• Independently execute and verify energy savings calculations.
• Evaluate and rank potential project opportunities.
• Analyze BAS trend logs and operational data.
• Develop and refine technical assumptions and calculation methodologies.
• Assist in standardizing technical processes across the team.
• Prepare initial and detailed cost estimates.
• Solicit, vet, and compile vendor quotes and subcontractor pricing.
• Conduct payback, ROI, and lifecycle cost analyses.
• Write technical narratives and scopes of work for client proposals.
• Develop exhibits, diagrams, and supporting documentation.
• Translate engineering findings into clear, client-ready summaries.
• Present findings directly to clients.
• Lead proof-of-concept documentation and pilot project reporting.
• Act as the primary client contact for assigned projects on a day-to-day basis.
• Contribute to process enhancements for site audits, estimating, and proposal development.
• Oversee projects from start to finish, from initial site assessment to proposal delivery.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or general engineering.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in HVAC, mechanical systems, or energy engineering.
• Experience performing job site visits or field assessments with minimal supervision.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel, including financial and engineering modeling.
• Ability to work independently in active mechanical and electrical settings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with direct client presentations.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, without sponsorship.
• Experience with building automation or controls systems is preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) progressing toward PE is preferred.
• Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar industry certification is preferred.
• Previous experience in mission-critical facilities or data center infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Availability to commence projects promptly and work as required.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
