This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Support and assist with projects focused on economic diversification, community revitalization, affordable housing, complete streets, brownfield redevelopment, and other related community concerns.

• Carry out tasks and coordinate/manage projects under the guidance of senior staff members.

• Collaborate with external partners, fostering relationships and ensuring effective communication.

• Organize calls with local teams, relay project next steps, and take/distribute meeting notes.

• Develop community plans that synthesize community feedback, analysis, and strategies through written documentation and visualizations.

• Lead specific components of larger community assistance initiatives.

• Create graphic communication tools such as posters, presentations, and infographics.

• Design and implement community engagement strategies and summarize findings from public engagement.

• Research various topics and produce clear summaries and infographics.

• Conduct training sessions for community leaders.

• Organize and execute community design charrettes.

• Manage logistics for in-person site visits.

• Develop conceptual site plans for proposed brownfields redevelopment projects.

• Assist community teams in navigating affordable housing toolkits.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 1-2 years of relevant experience working collaboratively on complex community projects or initiatives.

• Background in community planning fields such as urban planning and design, community outreach, economic development, housing, or a related discipline.

• Proven experience or skills in one or more areas: urban design, policy analysis, community engagement, graphic design, writing, research, or land use law.

• Some experience with community outreach and engagement.

• Strong analytical capabilities in community planning and policy sectors.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and presentation communication skills.

• Proficient skills and experience in standard graphic design software such as Adobe Suite.

• Solid skills and experience in data collection and analysis.

• Basic understanding of local government procedures and processes.

• Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and exceptional time, task, and project management abilities.

• A genuine passion for the communities served and the work undertaken.

• Ability to work collaboratively as a part of a cohesive team with highly skilled professionals.

• Strong work ethic and a desire for personal and professional development.

• Proficiency in Spanish is strongly preferred.

• Must reside in Colorado.

• A master’s degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
