This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver data-driven and analytical insights to Value Analysis Committees regarding cost reduction, product/service standardization, quality enhancement, or operational efficiencies.
• Collaborate with sourcing and contracting teams to secure optimal value for OHSU.
• Record and report savings achieved from cost reduction initiatives.
• Contribute to meeting the annual healthcare savings target of around $5,000,000 per fiscal year.
• Serve as a liaison among Logistics, OHSU departments, vendors, senior administration, and the Group Purchasing Organization.
• Oversee Value Analysis Committee meetings and communications for designated commodity groups.
• Represent Logistics in decision-making, planning, and investigative committees as required.
• Monitor market trends and evaluate opportunities for cost savings, standardization, quality enhancement, and operational efficiencies.
• Familiarize yourself with the Group Purchasing Organization’s contract portfolio and program offerings.
• Lead and coordinate product transitions utilizing project management methodologies.
• Review, analyze, and process new product requests submitted to Value Analysis Committees.
• Evaluate sourcing and purchasing options for new product requests.
• Spearhead departmental utilization initiatives and collaborate with OHSU teams to align business objectives with user requirements.
• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans to ensure timely delivery.
• Communicate project risks, progress, launches, and evaluations with stakeholders.
• Establish uniform processes and formulate change management and communication strategies.
• A minimum of five (5) years of increasing responsibility in purchasing or contracting, including project management experience, or in a clinical environment demonstrating expertise in medical products or product selection.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field OR three (3) additional years of relevant experience.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities for engaging with OHSU staff and vendors, encompassing negotiation, internal program promotion, and committee oversight.
• Strong analytical skills for addressing problems, conducting contract analyses, financial assessments, and contract development.
• In-depth knowledge of medical terminology and medical supply products.
• Comprehensive understanding of spreadsheet and database systems.
• Proficient negotiation skills.
• Experience in clinical settings and/or analytics is preferred.
• Background in program or project management is preferred.
• Familiarity with contracts and specifications for complex medical, scientific, and highly technical products.
• Deep understanding of the medical vendor landscape and Group Purchasing Organizations.
• Extensive knowledge of project management techniques.
