This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Program Development & Consulting

• Evaluate a customer's existing compliance stance and create a scalable, appropriately sized program tailored to their size, structure, budget, and risk tolerance.

• Draft the foundational documents of the program — including charter, governance structure, policies, roles and responsibilities, escalation paths, and compliance calendar — and establish inventories for merchants/departments, scope definitions, and data flow documentation.

• Specify the metrics and reporting frequency through which the customer's leadership will assess the program's effectiveness, and provide guidance on organizational alignment — determining who oversees compliance and the committee through which it reports.

• Program Management (Managed Services)

• Oversee the planning, implementation, and delivery of customer PCI DSS, GLBA, and related compliance projects, utilizing a hybrid (predictive and adaptive) methodology that adjusts to changing scope, personnel changes, and evolving standards.

• Create and manage schedules, work breakdown structures, RACI matrices, and risk/issue logs while coordinating stakeholders — including IT, security, treasury/bursar, athletics, advancement, financial aid, and vendors — across a decentralized institution.

• Own the annual compliance lifecycle (scoping, evidence collection, SAQ/AOC, ASV scans, remediation tracking) and act as the primary point of contact for the customer, maintaining artifacts in CampusGuard Central®.

• Capability Transfer & Enablement

• Educate and mentor customer staff — including compliance coordinators, departmental merchant contacts, and IT and security personnel — to manage the program independently.

• Create customer-facing playbooks, runbooks, checklists, and templates that extend beyond the duration of the engagement.

• Design engagements with a clear transition in mind, defining what “self-sufficient” means for each customer and managing towards that goal.

• vISO Engagement Support (Virtual Information Security Officer)

• Assist senior CampusGuard advisors in providing fractional Information Security Officer services, drafting and maintaining security policies and procedures aligned with relevant frameworks (PCI DSS, GLBA, NIST CSF/SP 800-171, HIPAA).

• Organize and lead risk assessments, translating technical findings into business-friendly language, budget-conscious remediation plans, and preparing materials for governance, leadership, and audit committees.

• Participate in third-party/vendor risk evaluations, maintain incident response plans, and facilitate tabletop exercises.

• Internal Contribution

• Collaborate with CampusGuard's QSAs, assessors, and security engineers to ensure customer deliverables are accurate, timely, and meet our standards.

• Contribute to service delivery methodologies, templates, and the ongoing enhancement of the Managed Services practice.

• Assist in scoping and renewal discussions with Customer Relationship Managers while maintaining utilization across a portfolio of approximately [X] concurrent customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, business, or a related discipline — or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Over 5 years of progressive experience in program/project management, IT compliance, information security, or IT governance.

• Proven end-to-end management of a compliance or information security program, including stakeholder engagement at the executive level.

• Familiarity with at least one major compliance framework (e.g., PCI DSS, GLBA), with the potential to deepen knowledge in others.

• Demonstrated ability to foster accountability without direct authority, teach technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and communicate effectively across working sessions and leadership presentations.

• Highly organized and self-motivated, capable of managing multiple concurrent customer engagements from inception to post-implementation, including plans, schedules, and budgets.

• Proficient in common project management and productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Excel, the Microsoft 365 suite).

• Required to obtain the PCIP (PCI Professional) credential within 12 months of hire.
