Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nigeria.

📋 Description

• Assists in the design of project activities in close partnership with the Regional Lead and other GHMS personnel.

• Under the supervision and direction of the Regional Lead – West and Central Africa, aids in the planning and execution of the designated project activities, which includes the development of workplans, organizing meetings, creating activity monitoring matrices/implementation plans, performance monitoring plans, and progress reports with support from the M&E team.

• Collaborates with cross-functional project management teams, including technical, M&E, and finance staff, to deliver high-quality outputs under tight time constraints, ensuring adherence to the defined project scope and budget.

• Oversees timelines and deadlines while providing quality control for project deliverables to guarantee effective, efficient, and compliant project execution.

• Develops scopes of work and manages sub-awardees, consultants, and vendors, as necessary, while ensuring compliance with donor regulations and USP policies.

• Produces timely and high-quality project reports; ensures M&E data is consistently collected and documented; collaborates with other staff, including field personnel, to create global reports that highlight progress towards achieving specific targets.

• Proactively identifies and addresses potential project issues and risks related to delays in the implementation of project activities.

• Prepares materials for both internal and external audiences, including briefing documents, success stories, case studies, and presentations.

• Assists in the development of project budgets and monitors project expenses to ensure activities are carried out within budget, preparing pipelines/projections as needed in collaboration with Finance staff.

• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with relevant donors and key partners; represents GHMS externally at significant project stakeholder meetings when required.

• Ensures proper records management in accordance with USP and donor policies.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences, public health, or a related field is required.

• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience managing public health programs in low- and middle-income countries in Africa.

• Experience collaborating with high-level officials in funding agencies, international organizations, private foundations, and ministries of health.

• Master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences, public health, or a related field is preferred.

• Strong preference for experience with international non-governmental organizations and national disease programs in low- and middle-income countries.

• Extensive knowledge of how medicine regulatory systems operate in low- and middle-income countries.

• Fluency in French.
