This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska, +3 more states.
• Oversee intricate capital projects that are directly associated with the production of PET preforms and rigid containers.
• Evaluate new products from a manufacturing standpoint.
• Manage multiple projects across various sites from initial concept to qualification, taking overall responsibility for productivity, timelines, and budget.
• Assist in productivity and cost reduction initiatives within manufacturing facilities.
• Generate bills of materials for new capital projects and support the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure incorporation of corporate safety and environmental standards into the project scope and budget.
• Upon receiving approval, refine feasibility studies with input from Regional Directors, Plant Managers, and Plant resources into a mutually acceptable action implementation plan that aligns with cost and timing parameters.
• Assess plant infrastructure, layout, and equipment to meet project specifications.
• Formulate and manage plans for upgrade and expansion needs.
• Analyze and evaluate the performance and costs associated with new, proposed, or existing equipment.
• Address and resolve technical, timing, and budgetary issues related to projects as they emerge.
• Publish weekly reports on project status, detailing progress and challenges.
• Develop and maintain division-level technical specifications, standards, and documentation for the Operations Engineering department.
• Regularly communicate with plants to understand long-term project performance and assist in resolving plant-related issues.
• Review and provide feedback on plant CEAV requests to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
• Travel approximately 60% of the time.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• At least seven years of professional engineering experience in the plastics packaging sector, which includes seven years of project management experience.
• Familiarity with plant layouts and infrastructure equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple resources and complex projects effectively.
• Strong interpersonal abilities to convey technical information and complete project tasks.
• Robust management, communication, and interpersonal skills necessary to influence and manage multiple resources, most of whom do not report directly to the senior program manager.
• Experience in managing direct reports.
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Experience in assessing on-site manufacturing opportunities and managing on-site projects from inception to completion.
• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
