
Program Manager, AI-native Physicist Fellowship

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Recruit and identify outstanding fellows, researchers, and technical talent on a global scale.
• Oversee and manage the comprehensive fellowship application, evaluation, and selection process.
• Collaborate and engage with the external advisory committee and reviewers.
• Work closely with the wider FirstPrinciples ecosystem's technical and research teams to support fellows throughout their journey.
• Serve as the primary operational contact for fellows during their fellowship experience.
• Organize programming for cohorts, including workshops, onboarding, and communications.
• Assist in refining program operations, processes, evaluation criteria, and reporting as the program develops.
• Monitor and report on program metrics, timelines, budgets, deliverables, and cohort progress.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships within the AI and science ecosystem (research labs, universities, communities, conferences, frontier AI organizations, etc.).
• Discover emerging researchers, communities, and workflows at the forefront of AI-native science.
• Contribute to shaping and disseminating the long-term operational playbook for AI-native scientific initiatives.
• Extensive experience in program management, operations, recruitment, community-building, talent programs, or ecosystem development.
• Excellent communicator capable of engaging effectively with researchers, technical teams, and external partners.
• Highly organized and adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and developing processes from the ground up.
• Strong judgment and a high level of ownership mentality.
• Possess a bias toward action. You act swiftly, proactively solve problems, and navigate environments with limited precedents.
• Experience with technical or research-intensive teams is a significant advantage.
• Required familiarity with frontier AI, scientific research, academia, startups, or technical communities. The ideal candidate has experience across multiple of these domains.
• Bonus points for those who have a natural inclination towards identifying exceptional talent, emerging communities, or unconventional thinkers before they are recognized by larger institutions.
• Contribute to shaping one of the first large-scale AI-native scientific fellowship programs.
• Collaborate closely with pioneering researchers, builders, and technical teams exploring the future of scientific discovery.
• Work at the intersection of AI, research, and frontier science.
• Develop programs that could significantly impact how future scientific research is conducted.
• Help define a new category of scientific infrastructure for the AI era.
