Program Director – Future Healthcare Leaders

📋 Description

• The Future Healthcare Leaders (FHL) Program Director serves as a vital faculty member (rank dependent on experience) and administrative leader, dedicating 50% of their efforts to teaching and 50% to overseeing, developing, mentoring, and retaining students in pre-professional, allied health, and healthcare pathway programs such as nursing, physical therapist assistant, occupational therapy assistant, and other clinical or academic fields.

• Core responsibilities encompass delivering courses that facilitate pre-professional preparation, managing daily program operations, offering personalized student mentoring and support, monitoring student progress, promoting student retention, facilitating smooth transitions from pre-professional to professional clinical phases and/or ongoing enrollment, collaborating on curriculum revisions, assisting with assessments, and ensuring a superior educational experience.

• The FHL Program Director works in partnership with campus, college, and program leadership, as well as admissions, academic support, financial aid teams, and clinical partners to enhance student retention and guarantee seamless program transitions.

• The Future Health Leaders Program Director collaborates closely with the Department Chair to uphold program integrity and sustainability while acting as the primary advocate and guide for students traversing their healthcare career pathways.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's degree is essential, accompanied by considerable professional, field, or higher education experience and college-level teaching experience.

• Expertise in healthcare and science-related fields is preferred.

• A PhD (or another relevant terminal degree) from a regionally accredited institution is highly preferred.

• A minimum of two years of successful experience in a full-time university-level teaching role and previous management experience in higher education or a related organization within the program director’s discipline is required.

• Experience in online teaching is necessary.

• Familiarity with healthcare education pathways and professional school admissions processes is important.

• Experience with computerized administrative systems is required, along with proficiency in standard office software on personal computers.

• Capable of reading, understanding, interpreting, and implementing accreditation standards and state agency regulations.

• Skilled in addressing inquiries and resolving complaints from employees, students, regulatory agencies, or members of the academic or business community.

• Proficient in effectively presenting information to faculty, academic and campus leaders, university administrators, and public audiences.
