This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Program Director serves as a member of the full-time core faculty responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program on campus.
• Key duties involve delivering classroom instruction, managing day-to-day program activities, supporting students in achieving successful term-by-term progress, overseeing the curriculum, advising students, recruiting and evaluating faculty, creating quarterly schedules, offering budget recommendations, and ensuring adherence to CACREP standards and the South University Mission across all program areas.
• Actively participates in professional associations, businesses, and the local community to enhance the program’s visibility and reputation.
• Complies with the directives established by the South University Board of Trustees, Chancellor, Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, Campus President or Director, and the Campus Executive Committee.
• Gathers data for Key Performance Indicators, submits quarterly evaluations for all students, and takes part in formal student assessments.
• Collaborates with campus leadership to develop a strategic enrollment plan for the program.
• Works alongside academic counselors, admissions, financial aid, and student services personnel to facilitate the enrollment of qualified students.
• Effectively manages and enhances the program(s), including curriculum development, program evaluation, student registration/advisement, and fostering community and campus relations.
• Possession of a doctoral degree in a counselor education program, ideally from a CACREP-accredited institution, or a related doctoral degree with prior experience as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for at least one full academic year before July 1, 2013.
• At least 1-2 years of experience as the instructor of record for master's and/or doctoral-level face-to-face clinical mental health counseling courses in a post-secondary or college setting.
• Minimum of two years of previous management experience in higher education or a related organization within the program director’s discipline.
• Active membership in a professional association related to the counseling field.
• Current state licensing/certification is required (e.g., LPC, LMHP, LMFT).
• Demonstrates a consistent record of professional development and renewal activities pertinent to counseling, as well as evidence of professional service and advocacy within the counseling community.
• Capable of developing and completing projects independently without ongoing supervision.
• Proficient in reading, understanding, writing, interpreting, and implementing accreditation criteria and state agency regulations.
• Skilled in addressing inquiries and complaints from employees, students, regulatory agencies, or members of the academic or business community.
• Competent in effectively presenting information to faculty, academic leaders, Clinical Mental Health Counseling Core Faculty, university leaders, and public audiences.
• Familiarity with computerized administrative systems and proficient in using standard office software on personal computers.
