This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Facilitate and assist with initiatives across Sea Pact's three key focus areas: Wild Sector Sustainability, Social Responsibility, and North American Aquaculture.
• Aid in the coordination of working groups, which includes scheduling, creating agendas, and following up on action items.
• Contribute to monitoring progress towards strategic plan objectives and assist in maintaining internal dashboards or reporting systems.
• Help create resources for members such as toolkits, templates, best practice guides, and educational materials.
• Lead efforts in data collection, including member surveys and aggregated sourcing data initiatives.
• Collaborate with Sea Pact's sustainability advisors (typically from conservation and seafood non-profit organizations) to coordinate deliverables and share information.
• Act as a contact point for member questions related to strategic plan activities.
• Assist in preparing materials for member meetings, working sessions, and webinars.
• Support the onboarding process for new member companies.
• Help coordinate Sea Pact's involvement at industry events and conferences.
• Develop and implement communication strategies that enhance Sea Pact's profile and visibility among key stakeholders, including member companies, funders, NGO partners, and the wider seafood industry.
• Represent Sea Pact in a positive manner at industry events, conferences, and other gatherings.
• Write and edit content for newsletters, blog posts, social media, and other external communications.
• Maintain and update the content on Sea Pact's website.
• Identify and seize opportunities to promote Sea Pact's initiatives through industry publications, speaking engagements at conferences, award nominations, and partnership avenues.
• Assist in the creation of reports, presentations, and other materials that communicate Sea Pact's impact to members, funders, and the broader industry.
• Stay informed on relevant industry news and sustainability developments to identify timely communication opportunities.
• Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, marine science, sustainability, nonprofit management, or a related discipline OR 3 years of pertinent professional experience in project coordination, program support, or a similar role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to write clearly for professional audiences.
• Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple workstreams at once.
• Proven capability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote environment.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally approximately 10% of the time, including for industry conferences and member engagements.
• Proficiency in standard productivity and collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Zoom, etc.).
• Graduate degree in environmental studies, marine science, sustainability, communications, nonprofit management, or a related area is preferred.
• Knowledge of the seafood industry, sustainable seafood practices, or related fields (fisheries, aquaculture, supply chain, food systems).
• Experience in supporting member-based organizations, coalitions, or trade associations.
• Familiarity with newsletter platforms (e.g., Mailchimp), website content management systems (e.g., Squarespace), social media management, and public speaking.
• Experience with data collection, survey tools, or basic data management.
• This role is fully remote but requires occasional travel (4-5 times per year) for all-team in-person meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
