Professional Land Surveyor

📋 Description

• The Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) – New Mexico plays a vital role in supporting Ascent Geomatics Solutions’ energy initiatives in the Permian and Southwest regions by delivering licensed review, certification, and technical survey assistance for project outputs in New Mexico.

• This position enhances Ascent’s ability to conduct accurate, consistent, and responsive survey work in the fields of oil and gas, renewable energy, and infrastructure.

• The Professional Land Surveyor collaborates closely with the Permian Survey Manager, survey technicians, project managers, and field teams to ensure the timely progression of survey tasks amidst high client demands while upholding robust professional standards.

• Additionally, this role offers technical direction and constructive feedback to survey technicians on PLSS-oriented survey activities, facilitating quality assurance, issue resolution, and uniform compliance with New Mexico's survey regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A valid Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in the State of New Mexico, in good standing.

• A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in professional surveying, encompassing responsibilities for PLSS-based survey work, oil and gas survey outputs, and the professional review and certification of survey documentation.

• Proven experience in reviewing, preparing, or certifying well plats, right-of-way exhibits, legal descriptions, and other survey deliverables that necessitate professional review and certification.

• Demonstrated expertise in conducting PLSS-based survey analysis, including section breakdowns, aliquot part interpretation, legal and record research, and defensible survey determinations.

• Experience in supporting surveying projects from inception to completion, which includes reviewing survey records, QA/QC processes, and coordinating with survey technicians and project teams.
