Professional Development Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Conduct professional development workshops that equip transitioning service members for civilian careers, focusing on resumes, interviewing, communication, and networking skills.

• Guide students in leveraging LinkedIn and other professional networking platforms to establish a robust professional identity and effectively convey their military experiences.

• Develop and uphold the curriculum alongside a network of mentors, guest speakers, and partner resources, emphasizing key areas of career readiness.

• Produce engaging digital content that showcases the program's impact and celebrates the achievements of students and alumni.

• Assist the Career Placement Manager in ensuring students’ career-readiness materials, such as resumes and LinkedIn profiles, are polished and prepared for their job search.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess three or more years of experience in teaching, training, coaching, professional development, or adult education.

• Have experience working with active-duty service members, veterans, or military-connected populations in a teaching or mentoring capacity.

• Capable of facilitating engaging sessions and tailoring content to meet the needs of diverse adult learners.

• Proficient in teaching LinkedIn and professional networking, as well as creating clear and engaging presentations and digital content.

• Well-organized, with strong communication skills, and willing to reside in the San Diego area on Pacific Time.

• Preferred (not mandatory): Previous military service or experience assisting transitioning service members and veterans.

• Experience in establishing a network of mentors, speakers, or partner resources to support a program and its participants.

• Background in developing a social media or content presence for a program or organization.

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or familiarity with DoD SkillBridge, Transition Assistance Programs (TAP), or similar transition initiatives.
