This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Angola.
• Assist in managing a growing portfolio of professional development initiatives aimed at providing educational opportunities for staff and fostering career advancement within the organization and Angola's wider labor market.
• Strategize and enhance HALO Angola's professional development program.
• Assess workforce training needs and collaborate with external educational institutions to offer relevant courses.
• Oversee and guide HALO educators delivering training in remote field camps across regions where HALO operates.
• Create a professional development strategy based on needs identified from staff surveys, partnership assessments, and labor market analysis.
• Establish and formalize collaborations with training schools and academies.
• Recognize opportunities for expanding staff training and identify areas that require further resources.
• Cultivate and sustain relationships with training partners and providers.
• Ensure that activities align with the Capacity Development Policy and donor stipulations.
• Communicate training initiatives throughout the program and ensure they are in line with the program strategy.
• Recruit, train, and supervise professional development personnel, including HALO educators.
• Review and consolidate curricula, educational resources, and performance metrics for teachers.
• Collaborate with senior management and department heads to develop annual and monthly training work plans.
• Manage training data and records for professional development in accordance with HALO standards and policies.
• Evaluate the strategy's impact and effectiveness, pinpointing gaps and opportunities for enhancement.
• Conduct monthly evaluations and oversight of teachers stationed in remote camps.
• Design and/or facilitate relevant training sessions as needed.
• Maintain reporting timelines, internal review protocols, deliverables, and project tracking systems.
• Coordinate efforts with program departments and local offices.
• Perform administrative tasks, support policy adherence, contribute to strategic planning, and engage in independent projects.
• Travel internationally as required.
• Adhere to HALO health and safety protocols, including conducting risk assessments, COSHH evaluations, and evacuation procedures when necessary.
• Significant experience in management roles within academic or training centers/schools.
• A qualification or degree in teaching, with a preference for adult-focused learning.
• Proven experience in designing curricula and training programs.
• Ability to think strategically and demonstrate strong initiative.
• Proficient computer and word processing skills.
• Experience in leading and working effectively across diverse teams or locations.
• Outstanding organizational abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluent in written and spoken Portuguese.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English is advantageous.
