Professional Coder – Billing Charge Verifier

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Ensure the precision of charges and diagnoses selected by practitioners at Meritus Health.

• Review provider documentation and assign the correct ICD‑10‑CM, CPT, and E&M codes.

• Act as a coding resource and liaison for the designated physician practices.

• Provide education to providers/practitioners as necessary.

• Guarantee compliance with Official Coding Guidelines, CPT Assistant, and organizational standards.

• Maintain confidentiality while upholding high professional and ethical standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completion certificate from a Medical Coding & Billing Program (*REQUIRED).

• At least 2 years of experience in outpatient charge posting (*REQUIRED).

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) through AAPC or an equivalent accredited coding certification (*REQUIRED).

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with providers and clinical teams.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to coding accuracy and compliance.
