Medical Billing & Collections Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +17 more states.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and process claims to the relevant primary, secondary, and/or tertiary insurance companies in accordance with established insurance protocols.

• Conduct follow-up actions on outstanding insurance accounts highlighted in aging reports.

• Manage appeals as necessary.

• Handle requests for refunds.

• Recognize trends and issues with carriers related to billing and reimbursements, and communicate the findings to management.

• Ensure the Privacy & Confidentiality of patient data and organizational processes is maintained.

• Take responsibility for acquiring knowledge of and adhering to payer guidelines.

• Correct misallocated payments and adjustments.

• Participate in special projects as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a business, medical, or clinical setting.

• Expertise in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) billing systems.

• Solid understanding of medical terminology and health insurance regulations.

• Proficient in English, both verbally and in writing.
