This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assess clinical documentation to assign and sequence diagnostic and procedural codes for designated patient categories.

• Confirm APC calculations to accurately represent the diagnoses/procedures recorded in the clinical documentation for hospitals.

• Conduct documentation evaluations and assessments for the precise abstraction of clinical data to fulfill regulatory and compliance standards.

• Examine and analyze facility records to ensure that APC assignments and/or Evaluation and Management codes correctly correspond to the diagnoses/procedures noted in the clinical documentation.

• Keep up-to-date knowledge of ICD-10 and/or CPT/HCPCS coding guidelines, government regulations, protocols, and third-party requirements regarding coding and/or billing.

⛳️ Requirements

• A valid AHIMA (American Health Information Association) credential, which may include but is not limited to RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, or an active AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders) credential such as COC (formerly CPC-H), CCS-P, or CPC, or a related specialty certification.

• A minimum of two years of recent and applicable hands-on coding experience.

• Proficient understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, along with ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS coding sets.

• Capability to maintain a coding accuracy of 95% while adhering to client-specific and/or Savista production and quality standards.

• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, with the ability to input data, sort, and filter Excel files (Outlook, Word, Excel).

• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities when interacting with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
