This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.

📋 Description

• Evaluates pertinent clinical and demographic data from the Health Information record.

• Assigns the correct ICD-10 codes in accordance with established guidelines.

• Conducts documentation analysis, abstracting, and code assignment by body system, organ, etiology, and morphology following the relevant guidelines.

• Executes queries and acquires necessary documentation for coding purposes.

• Responsible for staying updated on coding guidelines and regulations.

• Responds to customer inquiries via phone.

• Exhibits foundational knowledge of the revenue cycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• CCA (Certified Coding Associate) OR CDIP (Certified Documentation Improvement Specialist) OR RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) OR RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) OR CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) OR CPC (Certified Professional Coder) OR CPC-A (Certified Professional Coder Apprentice).

• Proficient understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, along with coding and its application.

• Familiarity with disease processes and their etiology.

• Competence in various computer applications including Windows, Excel, hospital information systems, and encoders.
