📋 Description

• The Medical Coder is tasked with the independent review, analysis, and resolution of all assigned front-end claims to guarantee accurate and timely submissions.

• This role emphasizes the identification and correction of coding-related issues before claim transmission, utilizing established coding guidelines, payer requirements, and organizational policies.

• The Medical Coder collaborates with revenue cycle partners to minimize claim rejections, enhance clean claim rates, and facilitate efficient reimbursement processes.

• This position requires meticulous attention to detail, foundational coding expertise, and the capability to operate independently in a dynamic environment.


⛳️ Requirements

• AAPC or AHIMA Certification is required, with a minimum of 3 years of experience.

• Proficient understanding of CPT, ICD-10-CM, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, as well as state and federal Medicare reimbursement guidelines.

• Familiarity with correct English grammar, usage, and standards for professional documentation.

• Capability to research and analyze data, derive logical conclusions, and resolve coding or documentation challenges.

• Ability to read, interpret, and apply relevant policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.

• Competence in accurately reading and interpreting medical documentation, clinical terminology, and recorded procedures.

• Proven ability to exercise independent judgment in coding and resolving claims.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the capacity to prepare reports, clarify documentation requirements, and maintain productive relationships with physicians and staff.

• Strong dedication to upholding confidentiality and protecting sensitive health information.

• Previous experience in a medical billing setting with strict adherence to HIPAA compliance standards.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

• A minimum of 3+ years of professional coding experience is essential.
