Profee Oncology Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluates medical records to pinpoint relevant diagnoses and procedures related to the patient's healthcare encounter.

• Chooses the primary diagnosis and primary procedure, in addition to other diagnoses and procedures following UHDDS criteria.

• Ensures the correct assignment of DRGs.

• Extracts relevant information from the medical record in accordance with client guidelines and after a comprehensive review of the medical record.

• Consistently achieves productivity and quality performance standards.

• Responsible for using company applications to enter coded charts in real time during the scheduled shift.

• Seeks clarification from the physician regarding unclear or conflicting documentation in the medical record, adhering to client guidelines.

• Engages in team meetings and completes all training mandated by company staff or the client.

• May be requested to assist in training or shadowing other coders.

• Demonstrates flexibility in assignments across multiple clients to fulfill required classification hours.

• Participates in Coding Roundtables by presenting materials, articles, and current issues pertinent to coding and Health Information Management.

• Keeps up-to-date with the information provided in the Coding Clinic, CPT Assistant, and the Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.

• Engages in assigned educational modules.

• Responsible for maintaining active and current coding credentials.

• Exhibits effective and professional communication skills.

• Enhances the company's image by demonstrating professionalism, adaptability, and mutual respect.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in Oncology Profee coding.

• More than 3 years of Profee Coding experience.

• Proficient in using EPIC with 3M 360.

• Capable of coding Clinic E&M, I&Is, and CPTs.

• Possession of CPC, COC, CIC, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA credentials is required.
