Medical Billing Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Prepare, review, and accurately submit medical claims to insurance companies and government healthcare programs.

• Track the progress of submitted claims and ensure their payment.

• Investigate and resolve issues related to rejected, denied, or unpaid claims.

• Conduct accounts receivable (A/R) follow-up to secure timely reimbursements.

• Submit revised claims and appeals when necessary.

• Ensure all claims are filed within the deadlines set by payers.

• Maintain precise records for providers, patients, and billing.

• Review billing documents for completeness and accuracy prior to submission of claims.

• Verify billing data and address any discrepancies.

• Keep organized billing files and supporting documentation.

• Communicate with insurance companies, regulatory agencies, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries and claim status.

• Develop and sustain effective working relationships with providers, management, and external stakeholders.

• Provide updates on outstanding claims and issues related to reimbursements.

• Ensure that billing activities adhere to healthcare regulations, payer requirements, and company policies.

• Uphold the confidentiality of patient and provider information.

• Assist with internal audits and quality assurance processes.

• At least 1 year of experience in medical billing.

• Prior experience in the healthcare sector.

• Familiarity with medical billing processes and the revenue cycle.

• Knowledge of the credentialing process is a plus.

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

• Capability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.

• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Comfortable in a fast-paced and evolving work environment.
