Profee General Surgery Medical Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Reviews medical records to determine relevant diagnoses and procedures.

• Selects the primary diagnosis and primary procedure.

• Ensures correct DRG assignment.

• Extracts pertinent information from the medical record.

• Responsible for using company applications to input charts coded in real-time.

• Requests clarification from the physician on ambiguous or conflicting documentation.

• Participates in team meetings and training sessions mandated by the company or client.

• Keeps up-to-date with the information in the Coding Clinic, CPT Assistant, and the Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess 5 years of experience in coding various Gen Surg procedures.

• Certifications such as CPC, COC, CIC, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA are required.

• Experience with Epic/3M is essential.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are necessary.

• A minimum of 3+ years of experience coding a variety of surgical procedures is required.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is mandatory.
